ULTRASTOR™ RS8 IP-4 is a host independent storage appliance which provides an OS transparent and driverless method of adding additional RAID protected storage to an existing IT infrastructure, regardless of your operating system or hardware. The ULTRASTOR™ RS8 IP-4 supports Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS), is designed to easily integrate into elaborate SAN fabrics or point-to-point centralized storage. ULTRASTOR™ RS8 IP-4 offers a flexible and powerful storage solution that increases your capacity, productivity and adds unprecedented data protection into your existing network infrastructure.
Powerful Storage Management
The new RS8 IP-4 offers multiple management options to match your workflow, and can be completely auto configured in minutes using the convenient front LCD control panel, and monitored or reconfigured through a remote connection. A comprehensive menu screen facilitates the setup process and lets users reconfigure the system as storage needs change. An RS232 interface gives users access to advanced features such as multiple array settings, iSCSI parameters (connection mode, ID, LUN mapping, etc.) SNMP features and security options. A network interface is available for remote web browser based management and includes the essential tools required to manage and monitor your RS8 IP-4.

Multi-pathing, the ability of a system to use more than one read/write path to a storage device, is a high availability solution that provides fault tolerance against single-point-of failure in hardware components.
